Dungeon Crawler Jam 2021: DAY 5

Build v 0.0.5 – 0.0.6

Some issues were ironed out through testing, testing and more testing.

You now spin around to face the enemy when they initiate combat. The images for hit, block, etc also now stay alive longer so you can get hit before the damage sprite shows up, so that looks a little better. Once the menus are in Japie will do the teleportation to different pre-made rooms. Luke troubleshooted some of the music issues.

Build 0.0.5:

Japie added the main and options menus along with the music for it. It really works well and creates the right feel. Everything fades in and out quite nicely – it was trickier than Japie thought it would be but he did it!

Build 0.0.6

Japie uploaded with the battle music added and a first attempt at fading it. It can maybe do with a bit more fiddling, but the fading works well and he liked the “win” sound. Japie still needs to put a bit of logic in place to let you actually run away when you try and escape – at the moment the enemy jumps right back at you super fast but the difference in the sound is just if you win combat you get the win music, otherwise it just fades back to the exploration music if you escape.

Music

Luke has worked on the battle music. A tune for entering battle, the battle music and then one for when you win.
